Has your child's adult tooth starting coming out but the baby tooth is still there?
Ectopic eruption is classified as the malposition of a permanent tooth bud resulting in the tooth erupting in the wrong place. This is quite common for the central incisors (as pictured below). It is believed one in seven children will experience this.
If the baby tooth is wobbly, we recommend to keep wiggling it. If the issues is causing your child any pain and discomfort, we can extract the baby tooth under local anaesthetic. Give us a call if you would like to have a consultation with Dr Yang or Dr Li regarding your child's teeth.
Usually, the tongue and your child's continual growth will influence the permanent teeth into their appropriate position.
