How to brush better with Plaque disclosing tablets!
Plaque disclosing tablets (or gel) can help you see where the plaque is plaguing your teeth and help you brush better to get rid of all the plaque.
What is plaque?
Have you run your tongue over your teeth after not brushing for a few hours and it feels all fuzzy? Well, that's plaque! Plaque contains bacteria that thrive off sugary foods. They eat the sugar and then produce acids that wear away at your teeth causing cavities or gum disease.
If you don't brush away the plaque it can turn hard (which is tartar). This can irritate your gums and can lead to periodontal disease. Therefore, it is important to remove the plaque when it is soft and easy to remove.
How do disclosing tablets work?
It is very difficult to see plaque when it first forms on your teeth. Therefore, you can use plaque disclosing tablets after you brush your teeth to see if you have missed any areas.
Some people are more prone to plaque buildup such as people with receding gums, wearing braces, chronic medical condition, bad brusher or other risk factors.
Plaque disclosing tablets contain a harmless dye that reacts with the plaque that may remain on areas of the teeth after cleaning. When you see the dyed areas, you can identify trouble spots to focus on when you brush and floss properly.
